In the Darkest Depths of Warrington amongst the houses of Howley stood a Bridge. A Bridge of immense power, this Bridge was forged of steel in a more prosperous time where a long forgotten Industrial war machine had once thrived.
Amongst the house's in Howley lay a bachelor pad next to the canal, the tall bridge could be clearly seen through the window, like a menacing calling card inviting the tenants, Marcus Hickson and Jon Doyle, and childhood friend Robert Gough to step on to it and abuse themselves with substances. After all. What else was there to do?
On the first day of a new year The Bridge would make it's first move…
It was a cold New Years Day 2002 and things were starting to get a little strange for Marcus Hickson, Jon Doyle and Robert Gough. Two Years of drug madness, three days of no sleep and a pending court case on January 2nd for cocaine charges left Gough feeling that there would be no fresh start to this new year. Needless to say the three schoolboy chums were getting a little emotional and nostalgic as they watched the sun rise on the famous bridge in the shit hole of Warrington. This was no good, things had gone to far, a two year prison term, lost friendships, and one hell of an in-pending come down led the lads to believe that there had to be something better, and there was….
…. When Gough was surprisingly cleared of Cocaine charges the lads decided that now was the time to take positive steps towards a better way of life and this was how 'The Bridge' was born. With no real experience of playing instruments or being in bands it was not until the arrival of Jon 'Nick' Nolte that they started to find there way.
4 Months and a lot of hard work later the lads played a gig at the local venue 'The White Hart, they brought an army of loyal fans that far out-numbered the headlining act 'Causeways' support. Both bands played and by another strange twist of fate (and some continued pressure) The Bridge recruited Causeway guitarist Mike Bee to do some work on their demo. Within one practice Bee was instantly impressed by the commitment, amount of weed smoking, and rotating groove in the music.
He too had witnessed the power of The Bridge and couldn't escape….
